WETRANSFER ARTIST COMMISSIONS 2018-2020
ARTIST COMMISSIONSCinekid set up the Wetransfer project to re-evaluatethe meaning of the MediaLab by focusing on the anthropological value of digital culture, as explored as a realm for investigation by artists creating works commissioned and co-produced by Cinekid. With this project (lovingly named after a tech giant all about spreading content, not sposored by the company) Cinekid aims to emancipate the MediaLab from a focus on technology as play and revive the concept with an idealistic stance on the function of media art in discussing the contemporary role of media in daily life.
From 2018-2020 each year Cinekid commissions three artists to explore how digital culture is a part of contemporary life of a new generation, as seen through art responding to the mainstream realm of digital culture.
Artworks will be distributed after the launch at Cinekid.
